Greetings, intrepid readers! You may have noticed my website has been down for the past few months while I gave it a total overhaul in advance of the release of American Oasis this January. Well, I’m finally ready to share the new digs:
In addition to adding a proper book page (including some really kind advanced praise from the likes of Beto O’Rourke, Andy Borowitz, Rivka Galchen, and Hampton Sides), I’ve totally restructured my portfolio of past work into three broad categories: Climate & Environment, Politics & Media, and Essays & Criticism. Really hoping the redesign — beyond being much easier on the eyes — makes accessing my past work a lot more intuitive.
Apologies for not being in touch since August — I got a last minute assignment to write a media story about the election, so I’ve been jamming on that since Labor Day. I’m going to send out a proper missive at the end of October after that story gets published, which will also include my general thoughts on the stretch run of the campaign and what to make of all the election models that have coalesced around a 50/50 race. In the meantime, please check out my essay in the current issue of The Baffler, which digs deep into the history of Arizona to explain why Democrats would be foolish to assume the Grand Canyon State is destined to go blue.
‘Til then, I remain —
Your pal,
Kyle
